Well it was a beast of a summer...so I am going to break it apart a little bit...we had wanted to sign up Teddy for a BYU football camp for the third week of June, but werent able to get him into it. Which turned out to be okay. The kids and I left Tuesday June 14th and drove down to Utah. We met my friend Jana and her husband at a park and had pizza. It was fun to catch up. We had met at this park last year and they had a splash pad...so the kids brought their stuff to go in the water this year. Well, this part of the state is going through a drought, so they are conserving water, so the splash pad is only on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Sally really wanted to come back for her birthday the next day but I wasnt sure I wanted to.
So after the park, we went to my grandpa's house. My parents, aunt and a cousin was there. They brought a cake for Sally and we got to celebrate a day early. So we stated at my Aunt Julie's house that night. She has a kids room downstairs that has bunk beds...we crashed there...so the next day was Sally's birthday. I convinced her to not go back to the splash pad but we headed to the Provo Rec center. I remember going here as a kid. They have two water slides, a pool and a little kid place. It ended up being a good day.

Thursday the 16th we woke up and started our cross country trip. The first day we made it to Nebraska; we were going to go to Omaha but ended up stopping earlier. It was a blessing because the College World Series was being played there and we probably would not have been able to get a hotel room. So Friday we made the drive to Illinois and Saturday morning we met my first mission president and his wife in Nauvoo. It turned out to be a great day. It was so fun to hang out with the the Crockett's. They are serving a mission there; they are over the Young Performing Missionaries. We got to go to some performances, see the temple and finish the night at the trail of hope.
We left Sunday morning and headed on our way. We stopped in Ohio for the night. It was Father's Day. Monday we made the final trek. Sam's family was having our reunion in Gettysburg but we found a nice airbnb in Maryland only 20 minutes away.
