2022...Once in a Lifetime...Trip to Europe...LONDON

We got up at the crack of dawn and took the Eurostar from Paris to London; it was fun to ride a train. After getting to London, a few members of the group headed over to kings cross station to see platform 9 3/4, the line was super long, so I just got a side picture.

We then had lunch at a tradition English pub. Sam had a proper English lunch of fish and chips but I ended up getting a burger
. We then went to the Tower of London. We saw the palace jewels and ancient torture devices; we met the Beefeaters. The first beefeaters were the personal guards for Henry VII; now a days they live onsite and give guide tours of the tower.

We then walked around Piccadilly Circus and did some shopping. We ended the night with some pie and mash for dinner. It was good. On the way to our hotel, I did get a glimpse of Big Ben, which is the nickname of the great bell at the top of the clock tower, which the proper name is Elizabeth Tower. Pretty dang good day!!!

Our last day, we started our day watching the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. It was pretty cool. We ran to keep up with them.
We then did a walking tour of the city; we started at Buckingham Palace and ended at Parliament Square. In between we stopped at a few places including Windsor Castle; such great history.
We had Chinese food for lunch and it was so good, dumplings, ramen and rice. After lunch we split up, Sam took some of our group to the British Museum and National Gallery and I went with some kids to the London Eye; we both had a good time. It was a good last day of our amazing trip. I am so grateful
We got the opportunity to go to the theatre here in London. Our last big hurrah!!! We saw Wicked; it was so incredible. It was Sam’s first musical ever and I have wanted to take him for a long time and just so glad it worked out. Something I’ll always remember. Now I’ll be singing the soundtrack all the way home!!! What a night!
Day 10, we departed Europe. We said bye to our tour director at the airport.
It was a long travel day, we had a delay in London which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Denver…the last flight to Idaho Falls this evening only had 10 seats left and there was 11 of us, so I volunteered to stay behind until the morning but miraculously a seat opened up and we all made it on the flight.

I am grateful for this once in a lifetime trip and the memories we all made. My heart is full!!!
