It was weird coming back from our trip; we had left in June and gotten back at the end of July; it was crazy that the summer was already almost over. Coming home from such a high was a little hard; I had to pick up where I left off of cleaning and cooking; but at least I had a good couple weeks before school and work. When we got home, we started to do our community passports for the Kids Day at the fair. We were able to get them all done and the day at the fair was fun...
I like them to be little as much as possible. They are growing so fast and its hard sometimes. Sam and I were thinking that in about 10 years we are to have two in college and one almost there. Pretty crazy.
The week before school started we got to meet my mom and sister in Idaho Falls for some school shopping...and then it came upon us...SCHOOL
This year, Sally is in 2nd grade, Macy is in 4th grade and Teddy is in 5th grade; his last year in elementary school...just crazy!!!Even though they do not always like their picture taken, they oblige when I really want them too. The girls got these dresses and Teddy had a blue tie, so when they are matching I like to get a picture. I hope they always want to. So when we moved to Rigby, it was November 2018...it was in the middle of the school year and the kids didn't want to leave their school and friends in Rexburg. I contemplated driving them up there everyday but in the end, we out of zoned them to South Fork Elementary where their cousin Liam went to school and my sister in law Karey worked. They had some great teachers and it ended up going well for them. Well, the next year, we moved them to the school by our house, Harwood Elementary. We can practically see the school from our front lawn and they could walk. Teddy did not love it, he asked every week to go back to South Fork. Harwood also is a smaller school and it did not have a gym. The year we moved the kids over there, they started to build on to the school; they were adding some classrooms and a gym. With the construction going on the kids recess was limited. Teddy was not able to play sports with his friends and he just didnt like it. When I got a job at South Fork in 2020 he asked again to move to that school and I said no, it would be so much driving for me. At the end of last year, he had some issues with friends and it turned out to not be great.
This year he started at Harwood but he didnt have many friends; his best friend had moved up to the middle school and most of the kids from his football team went to two other elementary school. He was having trouble navigating and finding his way. I could see his mental health and confidence falling; somedays he would wake up sad, come home sad and go to bed sad…it was really hard for me to see
His self esteem started to tanked and so I decided it was time to see about moving him to a different school. I went in and talked to the principal at South Fork, where I work. She listened and told me that the fifth grade class was already real big but she would check it out and get back to me. By the end of the day, she said he could move to South Fork. When I told him, he was so stoked. I initiated the transfer on Thursday and the following Monday he started. Although I have more driving to do, I checked in on him a few time and he seemed so happy. I was outside with him at recess and he was playing football with some kids from his team. After school he thanked me for helping him out and it just made my heart happy.
Kids mental health is so important and I’m so glad I listened to him and went for what was in my gut!!!
Teddys football team started practicing in August and the season went into the middle of October. This year was such a fun year. His team is so great. So on a side note, there is a rule for 4-6 graders that if you weight over a certain weight, you have to have an X on your helmet and you can only play on the line. So last year in 4th grade the X weight was 97 pounds. Teddy started the season at 96 but after conditioning and eating better he got down 91. So this year for 5th grade, the X weight is 117. This summer was not great eating wise and not really exercising. We got home and he weighed 121. We knew that with the practice and conditioning he would be able to be down, but it was crazy that he had gained 30 pounds in a year; he is not a fat kid, just solid. He has always been. He was able to get down to exactly where he should be and he was able to play in numerous positions throughout the season.
HAPPY 11th BIRTHDAY

Teddy got to play against his friend Brayden on his birthday. I have a picture of these boys when they played on the same flag football team in Rexburg. I am glad they are still friends.
I have alot of videos of Teddy playing this season but not too many pictures, I was given the pictures from last year by a parent who had a friend come take some of the games. Teddys team went undefeated this season; they only allowed a handful of touchdowns on them all season. Teddy played quarterback for some of the season but he also tried to play tight end, wide receiver and played defense. His friend Treyson stepped up in the quarterback role and I was so happy they were able to get to play where they wanted to.
My parents were able to come to a few games, and they brought my brothers kids. My sister Ashlee was also able to come to one of the play off games. I am grateful whenever they get to come and support.
The boys got to be in the homecoming parade again this year. Always fun
So, the championship game was against Thunder Ridge again. It was a rainy and cold day and the throw game was not going great. The wind just carried the ball. Sam put Teddy in as quarterback and he just ran the ball. The other team could not stop him. We ended up winning 30-0...sometimes it was hard, because I didnt want other parents to get mad that Teddy scored all the touchdowns and ran the ball almost every play. Sam said, he kept calling those plays because the defense didnt adjust and stop him...we came out with the win, so I hope that the parents and kids were happy about that.
Teddy was the MVP...so proud of him and his team...
