We spent the last part of summer just home; we met some friends from Rexburg up at Bear World one day. We have been doing this for a couple of years and its always a fun day. I would never pay full price to go, but our friends have season passes and invite us.
When my kids let me take their picture I have to document it!!!
SCHOOL STARTS!!! Teddy is in third grade, Macy is in second grade and Sally is in Kindergarten. Sam started his third year at the high school and since Sally was going to school full time, I decided to get a job as well. I applied to numerous positions within the school district during the summer but not much panned out. I had an interview for a secretary position with the online school and also for a para at the early childhood center; I did not get those and I was not sure what to do. My sister in law Karey said that they were always looking for para's at the elementary school that she works at. I went in and interviewed for a special education para; but the lady that was leaving ended up not; so the only position they had available was for a first grade Chinese classroom. I really did not want to do it but I was running out of options; so I said yes. My plan was to work from 8-11:30 and then have an opportunity to go to the gym and get other things that I needed to get done. So on the first day of school, I got the kids to their classes and then went to work. People always ask me why I do not work at the same school as my kids and I know Sally would have a hard time if she saw me; so I picked a different school. So I had a meeting at my school; they passed out a piece of paper with our assignments on it and I had been moved from the first grade class to a second grade english class. I was happy that I was going to be in a class that spoke english but they changed my schedule to work from 9:30-1:00. I do not do well with change and I had already planned on what to do with my day, but it ended up being okay. I decided I would go to the gym before work instead of after and it worked out. My teacher was great to work with; the only thing I didnt like was recess duty; I was assigned to go outside for over an hour each day. It was okay when it was nice weather outside but I froze my butt off in the winter...
For Labor Day, my friend Courtney invited us to go float a river in Ashton. It ended up being fun...Teddy did fall into the water and it was cold, but we were able to him back on and it worked out. The girls sat on our laps and halfway through my leg got a cramp but I was able to get kinked out and we had a nice time.
Teddy turned 9!!! I picked him up early from school and he chose to go to Fizz Bizz and we had a soda and cookie...he then got to go to Sam's classroom and then ride the bus with the football players to a game in Idaho Falls...we picked him up after the freshman game and went out to eat. Its pretty crazy how time flies...We are grateful for this kid!!!
Halloween!!! We had a community trick or treating at a park in town the weekend before Halloween; in true Idaho fashion it snowed and was windy and cold...we hurried through and then went home and carved pumpkins...
