2016

January 2016, I started back at school 12 years after I graduated with my associate degree. I decided on the marriage and family studies major with an emphasis in psychology/child development. The first semester back I took 12 credits; on top of working 30 hours a week and taking care of my three small kids. It was brutal; I felt like I was underwater most of the time and coming up for breaths on occasion. We survived that semester, but I did not know if I could do it anymore. The second semester I took two classes and this past semester I took only one.
Teddy started Pre School at BYU-Idaho; they have an awesome program that is run by administrators and students attending the school; Macy was able to start the same program in April!!!
Sam went snow skiing for the first time; one of his companions from his mission lives in Idaho Falls and came and taught him how.

March 2016 I was able to meet up with my parents and siblings in Las Vegas for my grandma’s birthday; it was the first time in 7 years (since my wedding) that we were all together. I brought Sally with me and we had a nice time.
April was a busy month; we had birthdays and easter and then we went down to Utah for my brother’s graduation. Its always nice to get to see family.

My husband took Teddy and Macy camping; they had a blast but it got cold!!!
October 2016-the kids and I were able to head to Florida; I had a work conference again and this time I was able to bring all of the kids with me. It was so so nice. I was quite a site lugging the stroller with Sally and the other two kids following behind with their own luggage. We got to spend a few days out on the lake and it was just heaven on earth.

(On a side note; this is the year that Macy developed a phobia of wind-did you know that that is even a thing…it even has a name…Ancraophobia-it was debilitating at times; if we were going outside or to the park or somewhere where she knew she would be outside, she would have a complete meltdown; if we were going to a place like school where she knew she would be indoors, she still screamed and cried going outside but was okay once we were indoors. It was crazy-when we were in Florida my mom and sister got her a special wind jacket that helped at times and did not at others-it was a crazy time)
Always hard to leave this view!!!
Halloween
We decided to drive to California for Thanksgiving to visit one of my husband’s favorite mission companions. They lived in Mckinleyville and we actually had to drive through Redding, which is where Lake Shasta is (the lake we spend time at as kids) I am glad that we made the trip but super glad when it was over. The drive was long, and Sally got car sick a lot but we made it. We visited the beach and just had a nice weekend. The drive home we hit snow and had to take a detour and stay in a hotel, but we made it home. My husband said he would never take a drive like that again… (we shall see)

 Christmas at Hemming Village
 Our Felt Christmas Tree
We spend our Christmas in Arkansas this year; my husbands parents retired and moved from Texas. It was bittersweet, I loved them living in Texas and being able to visit my mission while we were there. This year my little brother was getting married in Dallas, so we flew into Texas and drove the 9 hours to my husband’s parent’s house and then drove back down for the wedding. The kids loved spending time with their Grandma and Grandpa Phillips and it was awesome to see my little brother marry such an awesome gal.
