End of July

So I did something this week that I haven’t done in many years. I went to the dentist. A couple of years ago I was talking with my sisters and they were dumbfounded that I hadn’t been is such a long time. It took me a good long while but I finally got enough courage to call. I have been hesitant because my teeth feel fine and I was worried they were going to tell me all these things that are wrong. I also have some gum recession on my two front teeth and know it would probably cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed. So anyway, Monday I decided to call. They said they had an opening the next day from a cancelation or else they would be booked out until October. I told them I would take the opening.

Tuesday morning, I left and got to the office by 8am. It was not as horrible as I thought. They did a whole array of x-rays and pictures and then the hygienist went to town on my plaque that had been built up for over 15 years, crazy. The doctor then came in and took a look and told me that the overall health of my teeth was okay but there were two things. I had two amalgam fillings from a long time ago that needed some attention and then of course the recession. I set a return appointment for a couple of weeks for the filling and then got a referral for a periodontist, who will help with my gums. With doing some research, I think I will need to do a gingival graft; so we will have to see. I made an appointment with them for this upcoming week; I am a little nervous about the cost, but it would be great to get it taken care of.

So Wednesday; we didn’t have much going on. Teddy had a doctors appointment for a sports physical. He had heard horror stories from some of the other boys that they make them pull down their pants and cough and what not. But our doctor did not do that and he was relieved. I know in the future he probably wont be that lucky, so we will see. Sally was able to go with a friend to Rexburg and Macy played with a friend in the morning. I really like it when the kids have friends to go to, so I can have a little break. I am having such a hard time being a mom right now, they seem to hate each other and its just constant bickering and fighting unless they are not together and at fiends house. When I am just with one, it is okay but all three is hard. I have goals that I want to implement and they have things they can improve on and we will just work through it together.

The kids and I went to the church at 4 to play pickleball; well the girls got to watch some boys in the nursery while the adults played and Teddy played too. I had a good time. Teddy had a football came that evening and Sam was flying home from Japan all day on Wednesday and was suppose to make it home at 9 but his flight got delayed in Denver. I really do not like the Denver airport, just haven’t had any good experiences. They finally made it home at 11:15; it took him a while to make sure that all the other travelers were picked up and what not. So we didn’t get home until close to midnight. I had been trying to go to bed by 10:30 or so, so it was a late night for me.

So, Sam texted me on his 4th day in Japan that his eye was swollen and it never got better; he had gone to a pharmacy in Japan and they had given him some drops but they didn’t seem to help. He asked if I would set up an appointment at the doctor for Thursday. They had an opening at 11, so I took him up to Rexburg.  He was also starting to not feel great, so they gave him some antibiotics and then some different drops. It was a rough few days, I have heard that its not just Sam, but a lot of guys are such wusses when they are sick; it was pretty annoying but we made due.

Friday, Sam wasn’t feeling very good; I think it was just a normal sickness but he said he was dying. I asked him if he wanted a blessing, so I texted our ministering brother from our ward but he wasn’t available until the afternoon. I was able to find another gentleman to come and it turned out nice. He told Sam that he needed to ride out this sickness and that helped him realize that he just needs to let his body recover. He had me call the doctor to ask if there was anything else we could do, but they said to keep on top of the meds and just rest. I was able to take the girls to a friends house and Teddy also went to play with a friend as well.

I actually had a doctors appointment at the same doctor that Sam had on Thursday. I didn’t really want to go to the doctor because I feel fine, but my medication was running out and I didn’t have any refills, so I decided to only do a medicine check up instead of a full blown wellness visit. Most of the time they draw blood and run tests that cost a ton of money only to all be good. I have also gained weight since my last visit and I kind of felt like a disappointment. The doctor was happy last year when I had lost and so this year being up again just sucked. But I checked out and I got my medication refilled for the next year. My goal is to take this year to get my health under control and come back next year doing better.

Saturday morning, Teddy and I went to help a sister who was moving out of our ward. There was a decent turnout and we got the loading done in a short amount of time. I let Teddy walk home and I rode with someone to her new house. It took a bit longer to get everything unloaded and into the house and I wasn’t able to just leave when I wanted to, but it felt good to get out and do some service. He then went up to Rexburg to hang out with a friend. The girls had lost friends on Saturday so it was a long day. I decided to take them to a movie. We went to Barbie and it was interesting. The rating was PG13 and there were a few things that I would say were inappropriate but overall, it was okay. I was glad I was able to get them out of the house.

Today when the alarm rang I was disoriented and almost reset it for a different time but then I realized it was Sunday and we had to get up and get ready for church. My husband was still not feeling well and his eye is super crazy looking, so it was just the kids and I. I was proud of Teddy for getting ready without being asked and the girls were good too. We made it through church and home to rest.

In the afternoon, Teddy and Macy came into my room and were just board. They asked if they could go golfing and I told them that its not something that we normally do on Sundays. But then they told me that their dad went golfing last month with the football coach and that wasn’t fair. I didn’t know what to do. I told them to go ask their dad and I felt like he would tell them no but he didn’t. So guess what, I said okay. Sally was really sad that she wasn’t going to get to go, but I knew that it wouldn’t be great if she tagged along. So I left her crying, which I felt bad about but I knew she would calm down and be okay. I stayed in the car and watched a movie while Teddy and Macy played 9 holes. I am glad that they were able to spend some time together doing something fun. I would take that any day than staying at home fighting.

So anyway, that brings me to now. I am about to put the kids down and I will probably hit the sac too. Teddy has his class bright and early and I do not want morning to creep up on me. So adios, sayonara…goodbye and goodnight.

Middle of July

Sunday my parents came to church with us; it was the first time in our ward. Sally was brave and got up in front of our ward and got a picture of the Temple. My parents left after church and then we headed over to Callan and Karey’s house for dinner. Sally wasn’t feeling good, so she stayed home; we drove two cars because Macy wanted to come back and go to our ward walk about. Dinner was nice. I also borrowed a bike from Callan, so the girls and I were able to ride to the different houses instead of walk It went well!!!

Monday I took Teddy to his speed and agility class in the morning and then dropped off my car at the auto store; they had told me there was one more thing that they needed to fix. They were busy and didn’t seem to have all their staff there so I dropped the car off and walked home. After picking up Teddy with my husbands truck, he and Teddy went and picked up his dad and then went fishing for most of the morning. After fishing they came home and we went to Walmart in Idaho Falls to get some things ready for his trip.

Last summer we took an EF tour group to Europe and this year they are going to Japan; last year we had 8 students, 1 grandma and Sam and myself. This summer there is a group of 27 going; pretty crazy. So Tuesday morning, I got up at 4:20 and got Sam to the airport at close to 5; I came home and went back to bed. We were planning on going down to Utah with my in-laws to have lunch but they moved up the lunch time and my car wasn’t ready yet and I didn’t want to take my husbands truck, so we stayed back. We went over to say bye at 8:45.

Wednesday morning, I took Teddy and a friend down to Idaho Falls to go fishing. It went okay, we stayed for 3 hours. I read some things while I waited for them to be done. I was ready to go, and Teddy got invited to go to Rigby Lake, so we left. His friend wanted to stay, so we left and his grandma picked him up later. Both the girls were at a friends house, so I cleaned a little and then went and played pickleball. It was great.

My sister came over on Thursday morning; because my brother and his family were leaving for a few days she decided to come stay with us. I sometimes wish she come even if my brother was home, but we will take her anytime we can get. Thursday Sally had a playdate with a friend and Teddy went to a movie with a friend too. Macy, Ashlee and I went to Subway for lunch and then after the others got home, we went down to Idaho Falls. Teddy’s tennis shoes ripped at his class this week, so we went to Dicks Sporting Goods store to find some. He found some and we were able to get a good deal with them. I really like Dicks. We then went to dinner and then to Walmart. The girls needed to get new sheets for their beds. The girls picked out some they liked. We also went a little overboard with some body wash and shampoo and conditioner and Epsom salts. My girls are going to come to love taking showers and baths and smelling good. Sally has hated baths and washing her hair, so I hoped this would help her.

Friday we ended up going up to Rexburg and went Gravity Factory; and then hitting up Karie Anns. In the evening we went over to Teddy’s football coaches house for a kick off party. I made a pasta salad and they had burgers and hotdogs. I was glad that my sister was able to come with us. They had a few bounce houses and the kids just played while the adults talked. I can’t believe that football season is almost upon us. They will start practices on July 31, crazy.

On Saturday morning, Teddy got invited to go to Island Park with a friend. Ashlee was planning on taking Sally on her birthday date; but we convinced her to let Macy and I tag along. She picked Pizza Pie CafĂ© for lunch and then we went to Kohls to find a backpack. I was planning on using my Kohls card and she had a 40% off. Well, the girls do not have any tennis shoes that fit, so we also looked at shoes. They found some that they liked but when we went to check out, they wouldn’t let us use the 40% off and then I didn’t have the charge card and wouldn’t let me pull it up with my husband’s social security number like they had in the past. So we were going to go somewhere else, but the girls were sad; the tennis shoes they had picked out were really nice. So, we ended up just getting them. I was not happy with Kohls and probably will not be shopping there in the future. If they had customer service like Dicks, maybe but nope.

Anyway, we then went to the mall. They have a little arcade that the girls wanted to go to. They played some game and then got some points and got to pick out a few things. It ended up being a good time. When we got home, my sister packed up and left to go back to my brother’s house. I am grateful for her.

Sunday was a low key day; Macy woke up and said her throat was hurting so she and Sally stayed home from church. I thought Teddy was going to ask to not go but when I told him to get ready he did. It surprised me and I was happy. I was glad I didn’t have to wrangle all three kids by myself. After church we kinda just lounged around. I finished my book and started another one.

We all went to bed pretty early last night but morning still came fast. Macy has been coming in my room during the night and laying in bed with me. I normally do not sleep that well when another kid is in the bed; when Teddy woke me up two minutes before my alarm rang, I was sad but life went on. I took him to his speed class and came home and tried to sleep for another hour but I was in and out. He went to a friends house after his class and the girls were in and out playing with friends. I got the kitchen closet cleaned out, as well as the living room too. I need to keep it up.

Sally's Baptism

Saturday the 15th of July was a special day for Sally. She got baptized and I hope she felt loved. Two weeks before I hurried and took some pictures of her in her pretty white dress, we made invitations and she was so brave last week to drop by some of her friends who are not members of our church. One of her friends was able to come out and it was so nice of her. I didn't get a picture of the two of them and I am super sad; but life goes one.

She had such a great group of people come out to support her. One of my sisters that was with us at the family reunions was unable to make it but we had two of my sisters and my brother and their families here. We also had both sets of grandparents and then family from my husband’s side. The talks were beautiful, and her sweet teachers were able to spotlight her as well. I wish I had a picture of Sally with her primary teachers the Bishops, they love her so much and she loves them too. He had taken Sally under his wing and I do not think she would have made it this year without them.

Our bishop and his sweet wife.

After the baptism we had a lunch at our house and it was a team effort; I was able to get some table and chairs from people in our ward and the food turned out super great. We had a friend open up a catering business a couple of months ago and he provided pulled pork, buns and coleslaw and then we had lots of sides and deserts to share. I am grateful for each and every one of the people who helped make Sally feel loved on her special day.

What a spread!!!

Mackay Reunion

So Sunday after church, I made two sheet cakes for our reunion; for our Clark reunion, I had made a white cake but I also made a chocolate for this one. I don’t know why, but I just love them. We got ready and left around 2:30 for Albion. It is a little over two hours away from our house. We got there and started helping make dinner. Our family and my moms brother’s family always combine and do the first meal of the reunion-Mexican food. It turned out really good. We were able to pick out our room and hang out with family.

Monday was the 10th of July, and it was my birthday. 2020 I spent my birthday in Florida, 2021 was in Albion, 2022 was in Florida and 2023 was again in Albion. I can probably count on my hands the number of times in my life I have had a birthday at home; most years we are in the middle of a vacation. This year was nice; I got sung to by a hundred people…we spent most of the day at this place that had two big slides. After we got some ice cream and again, spent time with family. We had out big family picture with everyone and I was able to get a few pictures with my grandpa. I love that man and he had some great posterity. Monday night, we got a tour of the haunted buildings and it was cool. Sally decided to go this year and she did good.

Tuesday, a lot of the boys went golfing. Teddy rode over with my brother and Sam met them there. They had a good time. We spent the day just hanging out, mostly at the pool.
Wednesday we got up and packed up and left around 10. I was going to just have my kids, but I ended up taking my niece and three nephews. Our car was packed but we made it. We dropped them off in Rexburg and came home. My parents came to our house, and we started a few days of cleaning and getting my house ready for people to come over on Saturday. I tired so hard to have my house looking good but it really wasn’t; I wanted my parents to be proud of me but I failed at that; but they helped me out a lot and started the motivation in me to continue doing it.

Thursday my mom and I met two of my sisters and a sister in law down in Idaho Falls. For my birthday there were a few things that I wanted. We first stopped at Victoria secret and I tried on some bra’s. It was interesting and a little embarrassing, but o well. I have had my bra for years and its old and discolored; so the lady at the store measured my at a 44DD, I wasn’t too shocked but it was just annoying that I have let myself get so big again. It just sucks, it doesn’t help the my sister in law got fitted as well and she was like a 32. I tried so hard not to compare. Well, I was happy that the size she fitted me for did not work. The bra that I had on when I went in was a 40C and that is actually the size that fit with a bra they had; but the side straps were too thin and my fat stuck out; so we decided to try and go to another store but when we went out, we found a thicker strap bra that they could order for me. I got some interesting panties as well, haha. My sisters also found some sweatpants that fit me as well as some jammies. It felt nice.

So after that, we went and tried to find some tennis shoes. I have had the same ones for over 6 years and I have wanted new ones for a while. We went into a store that they fitted me and had me try on some shoes. The guy helping us out also told me that my arch was one of the highest he had ever seen, no shocker there. I have always felt like my arches were high, but the validation was nice. He suggested some inserts and I wasn’t sure about them, just because I felt like I had tried them before and they didn’t seem to work. Well come to find out, I had been using the inserts over top of the shoe inserts and it was way too high. So he showed me how to take out the other shoes inserts and add these. I ended up not liking any of the shoes at that store but I bought the inserts and we headed to the sporting goods shore at the mall and I found a great pair of shoes that I was able to put in the insert and they are what I was looking for. It ended up being a great time and my sisters and mother were so helpful. We had lunch and then they went home.

My mother and I stayed back in Idaho Falls and she was able to help me get a few things for my house. We were able to get a few new pillows for our couches and bath towels. In the end we also got a comforter for my bed and it turned out so great. I am grateful. We then went to Costco and got a few things for Saturday and came home. While we were gone my dad spent some time at our house. He was able to help us get a new dishwasher, ours hasn’t been working for a while. We also had a plumber come out and try and help us get our downstairs shower and sink working. This is the same gentleman that had come out and helped me with the clogged drain in the kitchen. He worked hard and was able to get it working. Wow, my husband is happy for the shower to be working.

Thursday evening, we had my in-laws come over for dinner as well as my husbands brother and his wife and son. With my parents, it was a nice little group; my husband was actually gone most of the evening. He was hosting a baseball tournament for a guy from Rigby who passed away a couple of years ago. It wasn’t the best weekend to hold the tournament but it really was the only time he could do it. We had wedge salads and it turned out to be good. We say around talking for a couple of hours, I know my husbands parents were waiting for Sam to get home but they left about 30 minutes before he got home.

Friday we got up early and I cleaned my room some and my parents took a load to the dump. At 9:30 we went over to the church and played pickleball for a couple of hours; it was great. It was me and Teddy against my parents. It went well. After playing we went over to visit a friend and then we came home and cleaned some more. My mom took Sally on a little date for her birthday and then at 3:00, we left and headed up to west Yellowstone to a play. There were 12 of us total plus my little niece. We saw Beauty and the Beast at the playmill. We were a little late but made it. It was a cute production. I like it when I know the gist of the things I am seeing. There were some new musical numbers but the general idea was the same as the movie. We didn’t get home till late but it was fun!!!

Clark Reunion

Well, it’s over halfway through July and I cannot even handle it.

So I texted my brother the evening of Sunday the 3rd and asked when would be a good time to head up to Rexburg on Monday. My sister Lindsay and her family had been there for the weekend and my sister Tiffani was camping in Montana over the weekend and was going to my brothers sometime Monday. My sister Ashlee was flying into Idaho Falls at 6 in the evening and my parents were flying into Salt Lake and driving up, probably not getting there until 10 or later. My brother texted back a little while later that some of the family members were throwing up and he didn’t know what time for us to come up on Monday. So we were in limbo.

Teddy had been wanting to go fishing with a friend on Monday and I at first told him now, but then changed my mind and told him he could go, because we were on the fence about when to go. So Monday morning, Teddy had his speed class and then went fishing. I tried to get my house clean but it wasn’t coming along how I wanted it. My sister called me after getting back from camping and told me she probably wasn’t going to go up to Rexburg because she didn’t want any of her family to get sick.

So I had a decision to make and I didn’t know what to do. I hadn’t planned dinner because I thought we would be up in Rexburg, so I wanted to go up there but I too did not want to get anyone in my family sick. So I ended up playing pickleball in the afternoon and then after we got home, we decided to stay the night in Rigby and then head up to Rexburg on Tuesday for the parade and festivities.

Tuesday Morning, we got up and headed to Rexburg. We met at my brother’s house; my sisters had gotten matching shirts for us and we changed and then headed into town. The parade was long but we made it. We went back and just chilled; we had a nice meal and just spent the day together.

Wednesday we went to Heise Hot Springs and it was great; I had never been to the summer pool. I got the slide ticket and it was fun. I took my 5 year old niece on it a few times and spent time with her in the pool and we also went to the hot pool too. I took the older boys home early from the pool and we just relaxed at home.

So Macy and Teddy had baseball and softball tournaments on Thursday. I really didn’t want to take Macy but she wanted to play. Wednesday my sisters mom and I stayed up until 2am talking; and it was all about me. Sometimes I wish I wouldn’t have said anything but I did. I had to get up at 6:25 am to take Macy home and get her ready for her game. I left Teddy and Sally up at my brothers house. So at the parade on Tuesday, Sally had a hard time. She tried to hang on my and cried a lot. I know my family members were looking at her and thinking it was going to be hard week. Well we got back to my brothers house Tuesday and she played really well with her cousins and the only time she had a hard time was when she saw me. I really am her trigger.

So after Macy’s first game on Thursday, we went back to my brothers house. They had won, so we had a couple of hours before we had to go back. They had rented a huge water slide and Macy really wanted to try it out. They told me that Sally had been great; she started to regress when I was there but did okay.

We left again at 1:00 for her next game. Sam ended up picking up Teddy and taking him to his tournament in Pocatello. We won again, so we went back up to my brothers house again for a little bit and then went back down one last time. We lost our last game, but that was okay. We didn’t have to play until 11 on Friday, so that was nice. After the game we met everyone at Karie Ann’s Italian Ice and Custard in Rexburg; it took a really long time but it was yummy. We did not stay up as late on Thursday night.

Friday morning, we got up at 9:00 and got all packed up and left at 9:30; it was just Macy and I. Sally stayed behind again and my sister Ashlee brought her to the game. She also brought 4 three other cousins. It was okay, they got a little board, but lucky we had a playground and some devices. Macy’s team lost again, so they were done. I was ready for them to be done. So after the game, Ashlee took us all out to eat. We got a smoothing at Jamba Juice and then went next door to Mrs. Powell’s and got some sandwiches and chips. It was so nice of her, and I was so grateful. My 5 year old niece wanted to ride with us so I brought her and Sally to Rexburg and then we went back home.

The Clark Reunion was a success and no one else got sick. We had two days to get out clothes washed and get ready for the Mackay Family Reunion. I tried to clean on Saturday and Sunday but I didn’t get as much done as I wanted. My parents were coming right after the reunion and I wanted it to look nice but it really wasn’t.

Its July!!!

Its dang July; can you even believe it. I really can’t. The thing is, I don’t want it to be July…I want it to still be June; the summer is just going so fast and I want it to last forever. I love not having to work and I wish I never had to do it again. I wish we had money for me to just be a mom and a house maker. I wish I had time to keep up with the housework and read more. My meager salary doesn’t help much, but we need it. We are barely scrapping by and I try not to let it get me down. I have a lot to be grateful for but man, its hard.

This week went pretty fast. Monday Teddy got asked to play for the same team he played in the tournament with last week. He loves playing with this team, and he is hoping that maybe next year, he will tryout for it. So anyway, as we were getting ready to go to his game, Teddy asked where his arm sleeve was. I had no idea, so I told him to check downstairs, he said it wasn’t there. I then told him to check the couches upstairs because that is the last place I remember seeing him have it. So he takes off the cushion on the left side of the small couch and nothing, and then he takes off the right side and guess what, his arm sleeve was not there but the lost Ipad was. Seriously, I was dumbfounded. I had searched that couch maybe 20 times and it was never there. And now it was. I immediately said a prayer of gratitude. Like I said last week, I had searched for it I felt like everywhere and could not find it. We still didn’t find the arm sleeve but Teddy was okay. He did really good in the game. In the 6 or 7 games he has played for this team, he as batted 1000; its crazy, he has so much more confidence. Anyway, after the game we came home and he found the arm sleeve in his dirty clothes; haha.

Tuesday we took the kids to the bank; well Sally stayed home but Teddy and Macy came. Teddy has been earning some money by umpiring and wanted to open a bank account. It ended up taking forever; we waited for a good 30 minutes for the right teller to open up and then the lady was slow; Sam related her to the sloth at the DMV in Zootopia, haha. Teddy went out and sat in the car and Macy counted some money; we finally got it all taken care of. We opened up a missionary savings account for the kids too; well see how it works out. We wont put much in, but some each month.

So Wednesday, I played pickleball with some ladies at the church. My friend Courtney has been coming and it is so fun. I love it. After playing for a couple of hours, we came back home. She come over for a little bit. Teddy was going to go with a friend to the hot springs but they cancelled. Another friend had asked if he could come over and so we brought him over. The girls had a fun activity to go to from 1-4; they rode with our neighbor, so Courtney and I went to Wendy’s for lunch. It was her birthday the next day, so I treated her. She then went home and I went over to see how the girls were doing. A family in the ward hosted a ton of kids and the girls had a blast. While Courtney and I were driving to Wendy's from dropping off Teddy, my check engine light came on in my car. I looked at her and just almost started crying. I say almost because I haven't really cried in a really long time. I am almost void of emotion. Sometimes I wish I could have a big cry, but it doesn't come. Anyway, I was just dumbfounded that something else might be wrong. I said a quick prater and the car ran okay. Thursday, the check engine light turned off and hasn't turned back on. I am grateful, I do not know how much more I can take...

Thursday Macy had her last softball games; they did well. She got a hit and made it home and she loves that. After the game we came home. Sally has been wanting a party ever since her birthday. Since it was right before payday, we weren’t able to have it on her actually birthday, and I really wished that she would have forgotten about it, but she kept asking. So I booked a bounce house for Thursday and we texted some of her friends. A lot of them were able to make it. So, I wish to say that it was a success, but it really did not turn out that great. I am just not a good party host. I only really thought about the bounce house and that was it. Thursday before the party we went and got cupcakes and I thought maybe I would make something they could eat; so I bought some bread and made three different kinds of sandwiches and cut them up into fourths.

So, the day ended up being warmer than we would have liked it and the kids said the bounce house was too hot. I didn’t have really anything else to do, so the kids just kinda ran around. We tried to put on a movie downstairs but it kept glitching. One little girl asked to go home after an hour and I felt bad. Sally started butting heads with some of her friends and had a meltdown every few minutes. It was pretty bad, that I had to call most of the parents to come early. I should have had the party from 1-3 but I put 1-4 on the text, because that is the time we scheduled for the bounce house. Most of the kids were picked up by 3:30. I feel bad for everyone, I think Sally was overstimulated and most of the friends couldn’t stand the way she was acting. I really need to figure out how to help her.

She met with a counselor during the school year, but I do not think that he did a good job. After the first session he had already told me that he had a diagnosis for her; Oppositional defiant disorder. Now, don’t get be wrong, I think she had some attributes for ODD but after talking to my sister, she said it should take a lot longer to diagnose a child with something. I went to her first two sessions with her and it was weird; but I didn’t say anything. The counselor then met with her at the school during the year; I wish I could have been there to see what he was teaching her. She would come home and be happy that she had met with the counselor but nothing really changed. I think I am a big stressor for her and I am trying my hardest to keep my cool and not get upset. Sometimes I think she is borderline bipolar; she is so hot and cold, night and day, manic and depressed. It just seems to be getting worse and like I said, I have to get on the ball about figuring out how to help her.

Teddy finished up his regular season of baseball last week, but this weekend was his last tournament. He was not looking forward to it; he has tried really hard but has just sorta checked out. Sam took him down to Pocatello on Thursday morning. They played two games and lost both of them. After getting home, Sam said he wasn’t feeling good, so he rested. Friday, his game wasn’t until 6 pm, so we had the day to be home, I trudged along trying to get the house clean. Sam still wasn’t feeling good so I took him to his game. The team started out playing really good; a lot of the boys who haven’t gotten a hit in the while, did and that was great. But it was not meant to be, we were winning 10-2 going into the last inning and the other team scored 8 runs, so the game ended up in a tie. Teddy was so sad.  Saturday their game was at 8 in the morning, so they had to leave the house at 6:15, so early. Macy went on Friday and Saturday, so it was just Sally at home both days. I stayed home with her on Saturday and I slept in. I am not doing a good job of getting up early.

Saturday after they got back, Macy went to play with a friend and Teddy went with a teammate to the lake. One of Macy’s friends called to see if she could go to the hot springs but since she was gone, Sally ended up going instead. They then came to our house to play for a little bit. After they left, I took Sally over to the friends that Macy was at, and we watched the fireworks. Each Independence Day, our Jefferson County Lake holds a celebration. It is always the Saturday before the 4th. It turned out really good, we watched the fireworks from the yard and it was nice.

Saturday, we also tried to get our tile in the bathroom replaced. We redid out bathroom in 2020 during the COVID 19 pandemic when we were stuck at home. A little while later, the tiles in the bathroom started to come up; we have walked on uneven tiles for 3 years. Its so ghetto; my dad always asks if he can help us and Sam gets frustrated. Well the last time they were here in December, he asked again and we checked out the tiles and we didn’t think they could be salvaged, so we bought new ones. They have been in a box at the house for 6 months. Well today we mixed up the cement and opened up the box. The order that I had, has 14 new tiles. We were a couple short, so we were going to have to use some of the old tiles. Well, anyway, we start laying down the cement and use the old tiles and then bring in the new times, and guess what, they were not the exact same size, they were probably a half of an inch bigger than the other ones, so we were not able to use them. We already had wet cement on the floor, so we just ended up putting back in the old tiles and it looks so bad. Sam is not convinced that they will even hold up. We couldn’t use the bathroom for 24 hours, so we put up a sign to not use it and we have a couple of more hours still we will see how it looks after drying. I wish we had the money for a professional to come out, but we are so in the hole right now, so we won’t be able to do it.

We didn’t get to bed until late and this morning came bright and early. I wasn’t as tired as last week. I went to wake up my husband and he said he wasn’t feeling well and was not going to go. Fine, whatever-but when he doesn’t go, Teddy and Sally also don’t want to go. I usually wont pressure them to come, but there is a little older lady in our ward that always mentions it to me when Teddy doesn’t come, because he is not there to pass the sacrament. I shouldn’t really care about what others think, but sometimes its hard. I told him that he didn’t have to go. At first Sally told me she didn’t want to go either but I remembered that I had set up her baptismal interview after church, so I told her she had to go. She took her sweet time, and we were late and it was rough. She is having such a hard time; we made it through thought. I was able to find Macy a ride home from church and then Sally and I waited. We got out of church at 11 and our appointment was for 11:15 but of course, they were running late. Usually the bishop has to do the interview, but he was not able to and they found a way for another member of the bishopric to do it. It went okay, Sally was able to answer some questions and practice as well. I hope it all works out okay.

Tomorrow starts a family reunion for my family. We are meeting up in Rexburg at my brothers’ house for a couple of days. We normally have to go back and forth because we only live 20 minutes south; but we got invited to stay up with the family. My kids are excited. Well the girls are, Teddy not so much. He takes it after his dad, Sam is not going to come the whole time. He would probably be cranky anyway, so he will hopefully come up on the 4th of July. Anyway, that’s it.
