#3

I found out I was pregnant with baby number 3 in November 2014; this was not planned and I had a wide range of emotions; everyone had told me that #3 is the hardest and I was not sure at this time how I was going to be able to handle it. I have never been the kind of person that wants to announce the pregnancy early on, with the two other pregnancies I told me family at 12 weeks but I did not do a big reveal until 16 weeks with Teddy and 20 weeks with Macy. I knew my family was coming into town for Thanksgiving, so I was trying to find a way to tell them (I had told my sister Ashlee on skype, forgot that she already knew. She found out early on with Macy and so it was out little secret with this baby as well).  We went up to my bothers house on Thanksgiving day and went to watch them play a turkey bowl game. It was just my dad and I sitting on the grass watching the game. In years past I have been part of the game and in the action but this year I told my dad I was not able to play and then told him why. He was happy and it calmed my fears about people being judgmental and what not about having three kids in such close proximity to each other. The rest of the day I tried to find a way to announce it to the rest of my family but the time never came, I almost did at one point but the short window passed. We waited until my mom came to stay at our house the night before they left to go back home. She was happy for us too.

We told the rest of our family in the following weeks. We had Teddy say to most people ‘mommy has a baby in her tummy’…it was fun that he was able to be the one to let people know. I was not sure of my LMP and at one point I was having some pain in my side and was worrisome of an ectopic pregnancy; so I went and had an ultrasound and they confirmed that I was having a regular pregnancy. They did say I might have a little cyst that was causing the pain but it was not something to be worried about. So that was nice; they also were able to project a due date due to the baby’s size. I was 10 weeks along at the ultrasound and projected the due date for July 6th.  When we moved to Utah we became friends with a family in our complex, the Glenns…they have a little boy that is Teddy’s age and they had been trying for baby #2 for a little while…she found out that they were pregnant over Halloween weekend; she let me know the night we went trick or treating with them; she was only 4 weeks along due on July 4th, so it was fun to realize that even though I found out 6 weeks later than her, we were due 2 days apart.

So ready or not, here comes Phillips, party of 5
