While Tay was finishing his mission he has a few decisions to make and one of them was where to go to school. He was either going to stay here in Florida or go back to BYU-Idaho... He made the decision to go to Rexburg and he and my mom were planning to drive out and make a few stops on the way, espicially in Denver and Wyoming where he served his mission. Well my mom got sick with a kidney disease which left my dad as the next avaliable driver. He ended up deciding to stay and take care of my mom and that left the third string me to accompany him on the trip. He picked up his new car and Acura TL on Wednesday!!!

DAY 1:So we left Florida on Friday the fourth of September and Drive for 8 hours and made it to Chattanoga Tennessee where we stayed in a motel 6. We arrived shortly after midnight and were super tired. Taylor turned on the TV and fell asleep within minutes...Something that we did that helped the time go faster was Redbox DVD's... We would stop at a walmart or gas station and pick up a couple of movies and then return them the next day at a different place. So so convient. This first day I think we rented Race to Witch Mountain and the Hannah Montana Movie...

DAY 2 SATURDAY: We left the motel at 8 the next morning and realized that it was actually 7 because of the time difference. We made good timing and got to my aunt and uncles house in Lake Saint Louis, MO around 4:30. It was fun to make it to their lovely home. They made us home made pizza and it was so yummy. They used string cheese in the crust and that was something new and awesome and they used a barbeque/marinara that was way yummy... We then watched the BYU/Oklahoma game. I guess I should say turned on the game, since I did not watch a whole lot of the game. I went with my aunt to visit my cousins. The Fields has just moved into a new home and were putting up some pictures. I had not met her two youngest kids and it was fun to see them. We also visited the Blakemores and got to see Zach in his wheelchair and the girls as well. We made it back in time to see BYU win the game with a late touchdown. In a previous post I put the pictures of Sams chest... GO BYU!!!
DAY THREE SUNDAY: We eneded up leaving real early on Sunday morning and driving straight through for 13 hours. We made it to Denver around 6 that night. We almost stopped in Independance MO for church but did not know where to go and were not properly dressed. That would have been cool. We stayed Sunday night with Ray and Heidi Katzenbach and that was a blast. They had a wonderful meal ready of us when we got there and we were introduced to Polenta/Palenta which is a corn meal. They are very strict in their eating and have this instead of pasta. It was not that bad...

DAY FOUR MONDAY: We got up and got ready and before we left we got to try a salad shake which I will have a post about after this...We then visited a few members where we got fed again and then left on our way to UTAH!!! We stopped to visit my Grandparents and had a nice visit and then made it to my aunts...

DAY FIVE TUESDAY!!! Taylor met up with a mission buddy (who will also be his roommate) and they went up to BYU for a tour of the football lockeroom from a friend Justin who is a coach. They said that they had a great time and actually bummped into Bronco Mendenhall in the hallway who happend to be talking to Lavell Edwards... NEAT... We left Orem around one. We stopped in Pocotello so I could visit one of my companions Sister Cardinal, I had a great time, we just got to catch up. We made it to Rexburg around 6 and just chilled. I went and visited a friend and then visited my cousin Kalli...I spent the night a the Perkes house and was so grateful for their hospitality.

DAY SIX WEDNESDAY: LOVED SEEING THE TEMPLE and they have built many new additions to the campus. I got to see some more friends that I have not seen for a while. They now have a great dinning place where I got to eat with a friend that I met while on my mission, so fun!!! Taylor and I got his books at the new bookstore and went shopping at the new and improved walmart. I have wondered when the Walmart was going to become a super store with food and now it is. So So nice for college students. It does not have produce but it has alot more food items then before..YAY
It was also fun to see the progression of the new auditorium...

This is a rendering or artist's concept of the interior of the auditorium looking from the balcony toward the platform.
Again so fun to be there... made me miss it! Such were the days of just going to school!!! but on to bigger and better things!!!
DAY SEVEN THURSDAY: I had to be dropped off two hours early to the bus stop but that was close to Taylor's apartment so I asked him if I could take his car and go get a jamba juice. I had been wanting one so bad... I said goodbye to him as he headed off to his first class...
I stopped at walmart and got a drink and I wanted to buy a word search book but ended up getting a fill in book and I have absolutly fallen in LOVE with them.
So I rode the shuttle down to Sandy where my wonderful aunt picked me up. I got to see my cousin Amy try out for a play and then I got to go to an enrichment activity with her and my Uncle. They had a guest speaker there who has written books on Joseph and Emma Smith and he spoke with us and shared some neat things. Some things I new already but others I did not... What a great time. I stayed in West Jordan that night...
DAY EIGHT FRIDAY!!! I got to spend some time with my Aunt Robyn and we went to the International House of Pancakes for lunch and boy was it good...
That night I got invited by some friends to go down to Provo and hike Y mountain... I have always wanted to do it and so I told her that I would love to go. I did not know how I was going to get down there but my aunt let me use their old van. It was so kind of them!!! The hike was harder then I thought but the view was amazing. I sat up there and just looked over the horizon as the sun was setting and thought how lucky I am to be alive...THANKS KYLIE for the invite...
After the hike, we had some dessert at the BYU Creamery and that was a treat.
I stayed with my Aunt Julie that night!!!DAY NINE SATURDAY!!! I went to my little cousins football game and that was a blast... I then went to my best friend Brittney's new house. That was fun to see! She and her husband bidded on a home and got it. Such a cute place. Her husband is a handy man and is making the place look great. Wish that I had some pictures...

We got to watch another BYU football game at my grandpa's and that was fun!!! It was nice to spend time with the Wilkins and to hold baby nate who is getting chubbier cheeks!!!

Then I got to meet my two great friends Brittney and Lisa, as well as Lisa's husband Jake. We got dessert at Cold Stone and just had a good time chatting it up and catching up on life...
I got to ride back down to Lehi with Britney and got to talk with her some more and that was so nice. She is just a great woman and I appreciate her friendship... and she is the BEST ELEMENTARY TEACHER EVER!!DAY TEN SUNDAY: Went to church with the Wilkins, got to hold sleeping Nate at church, so adorable. Learned how to play many fun little card games. Grace and Seth and I played all the time.. I love it!
We got to eat at my Aunts house with family, I SURE DO LOVE MY FAMILY!
We got to eat at my Aunts house with family, I SURE DO LOVE MY FAMILY!DAY ELEVEN MONDAY: RETURNING HOME... My aunt Wendy volunteered to take me to the Airport and I was so glad since I did not want to ride the bus. Little Nate does not like his carseat and I spent the whole time up there holding a phone and playing ring tunes over and over. It kept him occupied. It was hard to say goodbye to the life of no worries and just hanging, but I was also happy to be going home and seeing Sam and getting into a good routine again... We waited on the tarmac for an hour as there was a storm and they were allowing flights to land but not to take off... I had a layover in Chicago and I had never been there, so that was cool!!! I finally made it home at 11:00 and I was super tired, but glad to be home!!!
TILL NEXT TRIP!!! PEACE
